Romney says he'd give Americans 'a fair shot'

WEATHERLY, Pa. (AP) ? Mitt Romney on Saturday tried to refocus his bus tour on middle-class economic issues as he visited a Pennsylvania foundry a day after President Barack Obama's new immigration policy consumed the campaign debate.

"I think we have to have a very careful review of who's giving a fair shot to the American people," Romney told a crowd of several hundred packed into a warehouse at Weatherly Casting and Machine Co., next to the train tracks that run through this town about 90 miles northwest of Philadelphia.

Criticizing the president, Romney slipped and referred to Obama as a "governor."

"Governor might have been a better job for him to have started with," Romney joked.

The stop was the first of three planned appearances in small towns in this state with 20 electoral votes that Obama won in 2008 with 54 percent. No Republican presidential nominee has carried the state since 1988.

Romney appeared with former Minnesota Gov. Tim Pawlenty, a possible running mate, who told the crowd, "Mitt Romney's message is: It will be better."

The tour is intended to challenge Obama in states where he's strong. Romney is targeting smaller cities and towns through the state's more conservative midsection. Weatherly is in Carbon County, which Obama narrowly carried in 2008.

Romney also was scheduled to stop in Quakertown, in Bucks County, as well as at Cornwall Iron Furnace, a national historic landmark. That's in Lebanon County, which GOP nominee John McCain won in 2008.

Romney's is on a bus tour, but he planned to fly each night to the next state and ride from town to town during the day. It's his first traditional campaign swing since the primary and is aimed at undecided voters in six pivotal states won by Obama four years ago: New Hampshire, Pennsylvania, Ohio, Wisconsin, Michigan and Iowa.

The tour represents a new mode for Romney in the general election. During the primary, Romney sometimes ran into trouble in less-scripted environments and the bus tour probably will test him again. He also has long faced questions about his ability to connect with average people.

The last time Romney was in Pennsylvania, he campaigned with Sen. Marco Rubio, R-Fla., and said he was "studying" the Cuban-American's ideas for legislation that would allow some illegal immigrants to stay in the country to work.

The opening of Romney's six-state, five-day tour was overshadowed by Obama's announcement Friday that the U.S. no longer would deport some young illegal immigrants who came to the U.S. as children. In response, Romney softened the harsh rhetoric he used in addressing illegal immigration during the contentious GOP primary campaign.

"It's an important matter to be considered and should be solved on a long-term basis so they know what their future would be in this country," Romney told reporters after stepping off his bus in New Hampshire. Obama's executive order was problematic, he said, because "an executive order, of course, is a short-term matter. It can be reversed by subsequent presidents."

That measured response echoed Rubio's own reaction to Obama's announcement. Although pressed by reporters, Romney refused to take a firm position or say whether he would, if elected president, reverse the executive order.

The focus on immigration also threatened to raise questions about whether Romney would shift his positions based on changing political circumstances.

Romney, a former Massachusetts governor, adopted a tough line on immigration during the primary, calling the main immigration bill in Congress a "handout" and saying he would veto it as president. The legislation would provide a pathway to citizenship for young illegal immigrants who attended college or served in the military.

Romney faces pressure to appeal to the Hispanic voters who will be critical in Nevada, Colorado and elsewhere, but he also risks alienating his conservative base if he abandons his previously tough stances.

Each day, be sure to eat at the exact same time. When people eat at the same time everyday, they tend to look forward to their meals, they are also less likely to indulge on snacks. Therefore it is important to set a meal time and stick to it.
While on a diet, be sure you still include healthy foods in your daily meals. If you?re eating nothing but low-calorie foods, you may not be getting enough nutrients. Although you may shed pounds, you are not doing anything to improve your long-term health.
Try pounding your meat prior to placing it into the freezer. This will help you divide it in smaller portion when you cook it and eat it. It also makes it more tender and provides the meat with natural juices.
If you are a smoker, you must carefully calculate a weight loss strategy that will not interfere with how much you smoke. At least, wait for awhile. It is hard to stop smoking, and people that are able to give it up sometimes eat a lot to compensate. This can cause you to gain weight, which sabotages your weight loss goals.

Stress should be avoided in your life. There is too much temptation to eat the wrong types of foods when you are stressed out. Sticking with your overall goal of permanent weight loss is much more effective if you are calm and in control of your life.
Fill up on low calorie foods that are high in fiber so they fill you up. Salads with chicken or soups are great alternatives to regular meals that you can consume. You could also try drinking some water or unsweetened drinks before your meals to achieve the same thing.

Whenever possible, wear clothing that is lose and unrestrictive, rather than a tight skirt or pants, suit or high heels. People often feel like walking more when they comfortable moving around. It?s great if your work environment is casual, or at least has a casual Friday that you can take advantage of.
You may expect many sacrifices during your weight loss program; however, taste does not have to be one. Traditionally, weight-loss meals have skimped on flavor and sugar. That is no longer true, thanks to low-calorie sweeteners and salt-free seasonings. This is very helpful for those who plant to eat the foods they like but continue losing weight.

Throw away or donate the clothes that you used to wear when you were a larger size. By keeping clothing that is large for you, you are saying that it is okay to gain the weight back and you will have clothes to match it! But if you get rid of these clothes, you are committed to continuing your weight loss efforts.

Iced water can help you with the cravings that you have while losing weight. When the cold water gets inside your body, your metabolism will cool down and slow down as well. To make sure your body will recover and your body will burn the fat. Replace sugary drinks with icy cold water, as often as possible.

In order to get results as fast as you can, use these techniques. Following the tips provided will help you achieve your weight loss goals. Your goals should be in reach if you are motivated to succeed.

India to see Lumia 900, Lumia 610 in Q3; 808 PureView this month

India to see Lumia 900, Lumia 610 and Pureview in Q3

Nokia India announced today at the Nokia Strategy Summit in Chennai that its Lumia 900 and Lumia 610 handsets will be coming to India sometime in Q3 of this year. The pair of Lumias will fulfill the desires of both those looking for a high-end powerhouse phone, in the Lumia 900, and those in the market for something more economical, the toned-down 610. Both phones run Windows Phone Refresh (aka Tango), but are much different in the hardware department. While the 4.3-inch Lumia 900 packs a 1.4 GHz processor, 512MB RAM, 8 mega-pixel and 16GB of storage, the 610 has a 3.7-inch LCD, 800MHz processor, 256MB RAM, 8GB of storage and a 5MP camera. Neither a concrete arrival date, nor pricing, were revealed for either device.

Another announcement that came out of today's Nokia Strategy Summit was the mid-June arrival of the 808 PureView, which was originally revealed back at MWC 2012. The 808, if you recall, is the Symbian-powered phone that is equipped with a 41-megapixel camera. It was originally expected to hit shelves in May, but was delayed for unknown reasons. Nokia has put up a website to pre-book the 808 PureView, but has not made any pricing known for that either. It's an odd move for a device that is so close to its release date. The 808 runs a 1.3GHz CPU, 512MB RAM and 16GB of storage, which can be expanded with a microSD card.

The next few months should be pretty exciting for those in India itching for a new Windows Phone device, or a phone with a monster camera hanging off the back of it. We will keep you posted if any further release dates or prices make their way out into the Ether.

UN says 7 peacekeepers killed in Ivory Coast

UNITED NATIONS (AP) ? Armed men ambushed and killed seven U.N. peacekeepers trying to protect villagers in Ivory Coast on Friday and more than 40 of their colleagues who stayed to guard from more attacks remain in danger, the United Nations said.

Hundreds of villagers were fleeing the area near the Liberian border, and U.N. officials said others may have been killed or injured. Authorities have been unable to confirm any additional casualties because of the remoteness of the area near the Liberian border.

U.N. Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon condemned the attack "in the strongest possible terms," saying he was "saddened and outraged" about the deaths of the peacekeepers, all from Niger. He urged the government of Ivory Coast to identify the perpetrators and bring them to justice.

Later on Friday, the U.N. Security Council released a press statement condemning the attack.

Ivory Coast's deputy defense minister Paul Koffi Koffi said government forces, along with Liberian and U.N. forces, will launch an operation on June 15 to find the men responsible. He said they were "militia men or mercenaries."

Koffi Koffi said they could not respond sooner because it would take time to gather equipment and prepare the forces.

An Ivorian Cabinet official who was briefed on the matter said President Alasanne Ouattara requested helicopter gunships from the U.N. and expected them to arrive by Monday. The official spoke on condition of anonymity due to the sensitivity of the matter.

Bert Koenders, the U.N. envoy to the west African nation, said the peacekeepers were part of a patrol south of the town of Tai, an area the U.N. mission recently reinforced because of threats of attacks against the civilian population. The ambush involved a large group of armed men, a U.N. official said, speaking on condition of anonymity because he was not authorized to speak publicly.

"Their colleagues are still in danger," Ban told reporters. "Even tonight, after the attack, more than 40 peacekeepers remain with the villagers in this remote region to protect them from this armed group."

The mayor of Tai, Desire Gnonkonte, told AP that hundreds of villagers were fleeing the area.

"We are moving in reinforcements as soon as we have daylight," said Kieran Dwyer, the spokesman for the U.N. peacekeeping department.

Josephine Guerrero, a spokeswoman for the U.N.'s Department of Peacekeeping Operations, said it was the biggest attack on peacekeepers in recent years.

Sylvie van den Wildenberg, acting spokeswoman for the U.N. mission in Ivory Coast, called it "the first attack of its kind" against U.N. peacekeepers in the country.

She said several vehicles were on a reconnaissance patrol near the village of Para on the southern axis of Tai to follow up on "rumors of movement of armed people in the area and threats on the security of civilians."

"There were several vehicles on the patrol and the leading vehicles were strongly hit," van den Wildenberg said. "The area is densely forested and very tough terrain."

Once a stable nation, the world's largest cocoa producer was split into a rebel-controlled north and government-controlled south after an attempted coup sparked civil war in 2002. A peace deal in March 2007 brought key rebel leaders into the administration and offered hope for a single government after years of foundering accords and disarmament plans.

But the country headed to the brink of civil war after a presidential runoff in early 2011 when then-president Laurent Gbagbo refused to concede defeat after losing to Ouattara, the internationally recognized winner of the election. Gbagbo was arrested with the help of U.N. and French forces in April 2011, and is now facing charges of war crimes at The Hague. Ouattara was sworn in as president soon after.

Following Gbagbo's arrest, many of the mercenaries and militiamen who fought for him fled across the porous border into Liberia's forests, or clandestinely, into its refugee camps.

Western Ivory Coast has remained particularly unstable, and Human Rights Watch said earlier this week that armed groups in Liberia who supported Gbagbo have killed at least 40 civilians in cross-border raids into Ivory Coast since July. The deaths have all been near Tai, Human Rights Watch said.

"In the four cross-border attacks since June 2011, the motivation appears to have been both political vengeance and related to land conflict - issues that overlap in Ivory Coast's volatile west. Those killed or whose houses were burned predominantly belong to ethnic groups that largely voted for president Ouattara," the group said in its report.

Matt Wells, West Africa researcher at Human Rights Watch, told AP that the organization hasn't confirmed details of the attack but "pro-Gbagbo militants have conducted repeated raids from Liberia into this region of Ivory Coast."

"The Gbagbo camp often resorted to inciting rhetoric against U.N. personnel during the Ivorian crisis, though today's deadly attack is the first of its kind during the recent Ivorian crisis," Wells said

"Liberian and Ivorian authorities need to quickly work together to bring to account those involved in this heinous act," he said.

The United Nations has had a peacekeeping mission in Ivory Coast since 2004.

At the end of April, the U.N. said there were about 9,400 peacekeeping troops, 200 military observers and 1,350 international police in the mission along with civilian staff. Over 40 countries are contributing military personnel.

Koenders said the U.N. mission "will take all necessary measures following this grave violation of international law."

It is no exaggeration. Learn to play guitar is not only physically but also covers a lot of mental activity. For every time you practice, you should analyze the attentive and able to isolate your problem areas and continue to increase. And then you have to think about possible solutions to your specific problem. Of course, this only happens in your practice time and not in front of your teacher.

Why Should Learn Guitar

Why Should Learn Guitar

Another thing is that if you are from, you teach yourself how to focus it, organize, and how they do things efficiently. And it also happens in everyday life, not only as musicians but as people generally applied.

You know, many people play the guitar and really dominated the style of their music? Compare the number of people playing the other instruments like piano, violin, woodwinds, etc. They are much in the orchestra set up to find it.

The fact is, the guitar is a brand new instrument. So it?s own new and how it is played is still in development and that there are very few people actually managed to below the knee in the style of their own music. The people on the other hand, stands out among the major players of other instruments. How many people do not know, Jimi Hendrix, Slash, Van Halen, Eric Clapton and Brian May? Not much.

You can play a guitar on the melody, chords, arpeggios, and also as a percussion instrument to use! Name one other instrument that can be used in different ways? In addition, a note, say C, can for example be played on a different articulation on the guitar: the pre-bends, bends, hammer-ons and pull-offs, tapping, harmonics, slide to slide, whammy bar, a drill , tremolo, vibrato, light is picked, plucked weight, raised his finger (ask your teacher to show it).

In addition, hundreds of real-time guitar effects on the market and this can allow you to play a note in many, many ways. Steve Vai combines talk, laugh and even a guitar with the use of the whammy bar techniques with bending and wah pedal.

Once you have some serious skills, you create a band, playing gigs at the form, you can do your own recordings, and get a record deal or a guitar teacher. In fact, you can even do what you want! Just knowing the steps you should, and not pure luck. Can and there are people who help and teach these things. But to musical skills that are useful in accordance with the wish to develop you. You do not necessarily have to dominate, to start, but make sure to constantly improve the process.

This is the reason why most guitar teachers and take a guitar player and learning in the first place. Learning guitar is not so easy to learn another instrument. Moreover, the study. But once you?re all a little skill will follow through and you start wondering why you do not know this for a long time. Try to learn from good teachers and are not alone, and get yourself a whole new and wonderful world, wonderful world of guitar music.

There is absolutely no risk, unless you?re crazy and try some stunts and sets as you do your guitar or the stage. Historically speaking, was, as stated in the old days. But things have, over time, and the guitarist is now changed for the purpose of skill and not all images and settings. This does not mean you should play like a statue on the stage.
